This poem, Meditations on a Photograph of Historic Rail Women, began in a poetry writing workshop based on a prompt given by then Philly Poetry Laurette Sonia Sanchez. The photo was real and bought by Ms. Sonia at a local area flee market. It was latter selected for inclusion in the 2021 Best American Poetry Anthology, published by Scribner Poetry and edited by Tracey K. Smith.

This poem, Clump Soul. Katamari in 4 Parts, is an ekphrastic based on the cult classic third-person puzzle game Katamari Damacy. It is one of the rare poems I wrote for submission to one particular lit mag. Like most things in Japanese videos games, the father / son dynamic in that game is mad weird…

Philly’s own the Tiny did me the solid of publishing a few pieces from an upcoming project I’ve been shopping around. It’s digs into the history and erasure of Bebop through, well, the erasure and translation of a biography of Dizzy Gillespie.
