Bird/Diz is Launching on Bunny!

My second book, Bird/Diz: An Erased History of Bebop, is available for pre-order through Bunny (a new imprint of Fonograf Editions).
Bird/Diz combines erasure poems of biographies of John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie and Charlie "Bird" Parker and response piece to youtube interviews and performance to make a story of Bebop's incredible technical freedom and explosive growth, while also coming to terms with the tragedy of the lives of so many of it's practitioners. Above all, it's about the joy and beauty of music making, pure and joyful, and an attempt to touch that in poetic form.
